Take for example a perfect triangle, as it might be described by a mathematician.

If we can conceive the Idea or Form of a perfect triangle in our mind, then the Idea of Triangle must exist.

This is Tri

Mothers Ruin

I recently went to a Gin tasting night but I have a secret, I don’t like Gin.

I know shocking. It seems to have become everyone’s go to drink, there has literally been a Gin revolution but I just haven’t jumped on board.

I went along slightly apprehensive and to the horror of the rest of the group told my dirty secret that I didn’t like Gin.

Honestly from the reaction I got you’d have thought I had just offered to kick one of their children in the face.

As the night continued I began to come around to some of the Gins and realise they wherent that bad. Or it could have been the fact that all the tasting Gins where served in 50ml measures.

Either way I learnt something. Gin is not that bad and if I was ever stuck in a hipster Gin bar there’s one or two I could drink.

Also the rumours it dosent give you a hangover are a lie.

Make mine a beer

I’ve never been a big beer drinker, I’ve always thought beer was just, well, beer?

Recently I have been shown the error of my ways and introduced to some pretty amazing brewery’s.

I’m pretty late to the whole craft beer hype but here’s my top four favourite brewery’s and some of their offerings.

1. Beavertown

Easily taking my top spot, I haven’t actually disliked any of their offerings and the packaging is insanely cool!

2. Brewdog

With 44 bars nation wide it’s hard not to have noticed these guys and their ethos is spot on.

If your quick you can still become a share holder with Equity for Punks but you’ll have to be quick as they only release a small amount of shares each time.

Punk IPA is my current fave from these lot.

3. Derby Brewing Company

I’m lucky enough to live close to two of the pubs these guys own so I get to taste a lot of their offerings.

A family run micro brewery who are clearly getting it all right.

4. Magic Rock Brewing

I havent tried much from this particular brewery but I recently got to try un-human cannonball and have been blown away.

Made with fresh hops and a short shelf life that carries a warning to drink as quickly as possible.

The bottle itself is just way to cool to throw away so will probably become a base for the non existent flowers I intend to buy for myself!

Next thing I’m trying is a milk stout which I won’t lie I still have my reservations on but with all the weird and wonderful things I now know about beer nothing’s too far fetched.

(Last band of the day but had some seriously crazy energy)

Other random snaps from the day

This was the first time 2Q had taken place in Derby and it all seemed to go off pretty damn well.

My only gripe of the day was not one of the venues where selling any food and everyone was starving/or very drunk! With most of the venues having outside areas could they have not have had a fast food truck or with Derby city centre having more take away spent square mile than any other city could the not have teamed up and got one of them to open during the day?

Apart from that the day was full of laughs, drinks, a little bit of rain and a lot of good music!

Tickets for next year have already gone on sale.

HIDE burger / Derby

With burger places on every street corner now doing every topping you could think of it’s getting hard to stand out in the burger crowd.

Visited HIDE on a Thursday evening, didn’t book but if you are planning on making a trip there I’d recommend booking as there isn’t many seats.

It was just the second night of the new menu launch when we went, a simple menu but all of it very tempting.

I had the Chilli burger..

..and my partner had the Hide burger.

Both came with rosemary fries but we did order a side of onion rings to share. Be warned, the onion rings are HUGE!

I’d been told such good things about this place that I did have a panic that it wouldn’t meet my expectations but thank fuck I didn’t have to worry.

Our food came out quickly but not so fast that I worried it had been microwaved. My burger was full to bursting with meat as was my partners and silence descended on our table for a good ten minutes whilst we wolfed them down.

The onion rings had been deep fried but stayed on the right side of greasy AND they stayed together when bit in too.

The deserts and cocktails all looked pretty inviting but unfortunately we were way too stuffed! I will be wanting to try a root beer float next time.

There’s a good selection of drinks and by the looks of it a regular rotation of guest beers.

We washed everything down with good beer from two of our favourite breweries and rolled ourselves outta there with massive smiles on our faces.

If your fed up of chains, burgers being served on donuts, more toppings you could shake a stick at then literally “follow the herd” down to hide.

IVY Park 14/04/16

I’m a sucker for celebrity collections.

Yes I am one on those people who cues up at 5am on a cold November morning to get the latest H&M X inserthotdesignersnamehere and god damn it I am not ashamed of it.

The latest one to drop is going to be Beyonces sport and fitness line, IVY PARK. It’s been a long time coming with rumours starting all the was back in 2014. It appears that Beyonces been using her time wisely with a reported collection of over 200 pieces and with the bottoms coming in three different rises; low rise (I), mid rise (V) and high rise (Y).

So far all the press photos that I’ve seen released have been stunning. Ok so it might not make me run straight out to the gym (I still haven’t tried yoga and have been in a grand total of three runs so far this year) but if I do decide to work out then at least I can look hot whilst doing it yeah?

Take a look at the trailer here.

More than likely, I’m going to inject the bit I buy and put them in to my day to day wardrobe. I want the logo crop top to wear under a loose low White tshirt.

I’m also lusting after the grey logo hoodie and the head band (you know incase I do go for a run to keep the hair out of my eyes?).

So far I’m struggling to find a full look book or prices in just hoping Beyonce doesn’t go down the route of Balmain X H&M who up’d their prices for the last collaboration much to the annoyance of many customers.

The collection in the UK will be avalible from the following stock lists;

JD Sports

The whole lot goes on sale on the 14th of April so not long to wait but in the meantime check out the increadably stylish website; IVY Park.
